Model
This delicate model of a World War I–era submarine chaser, preserved beneath glass, represents the pivotal role that small military vessels played in protecting American waters during the Great War. Such swift, agile boats were crucial to coastal defense and anti-submarine patrols, embodying the technological innovation and patriotic commitment of the home front.
The care taken to preserve this miniature under glass reflects how Stuart residents treasured memories of the nation's military heritage and the connection between our Treasure Coast community and America's broader defense during the early twentieth century.
