The Tiger Shores Beach Shipwreck

In this video, a retired Navy veteran and amateur historian named David Jordan details his decades-long quest to locate and legally claim a 1715 Spanish shipwreck off the coast of Martin County, Florida. He explains how a chilling day of surfing in his youth led him to accidentally discover historic cannons buried beneath the ocean sand, setting off a lifelong obsession with maritime archaeology.

The story in brief

Furthermore, Jordan highlights his groundbreaking research using a rare cartography book to identify the region as "The Bleach yard," an essential historical supply and maintenance stop for Spanish sailors long ignored in favor of neighboring towns.

About this story

Ultimately, his presentation serves as a passionate plea for the local community to embrace its rich maritime history, celebrate the sacrifices of the lives lost at sea, and reclaim its rightful place along the Treasure Coast.

good evening good evening welcome to the Stewart Heritage Museum's uh mle speaker uh this evening I'm confident it's going to be very interesting uh our speaker tonight is David Jordan grew up here in town uh went off joined the Navy spent 20 years in the Navy uh has settled in Parts north of here currently up in the Gainesville area but he always had a a love and affection for uh for the Martin County community and uh the treasure that it is I'm going to invite Dave to come up and take charge so I'm not a professional speaker but I slept at the Holiday n once no now actually I was a a career counselor in

the Navy and also worked in eye surgery so I kind of dedicated myself to that till I retired in 20 2017 and basically what I'm going to do tonight is I'm going to I'm going to basically tell three stories okay I'm going to tell my story I'm going to tell a story of a thousand people that died on your beaches here and I'm going to tell you your story of what you need to do to protect and preserve what you have here nobody not many people in this County understand what they have so tiger Shores beach shipwreck and it's a relationship to the bleach yard the bleach yard you'll see written several different ways if

you don't like the way I wrote it or the way I said it just call it Roa tendida because that's what the Spanish called it Roa tendida so here's go ah wait if just hit this side it should go yeah that works too so first off I want to thank the steuart Heritage Museum Gary Maxwell and his crew um I've talked to four or five different groups in Martin County I live up by Gainesville and I've talked to four or five different key people um have run into some pretty important people nobody wants to hear the story Gary said get down here we want to hear your story because I'm trying to really bring what

I have learned as a non archaeologist to back home I grew up in Stewart in between pelic hotel and Mark Memorial and then Palm City and uh I know how important our heritage is for us so that's one of the key things so what I'm saying here is basically what I said about the the three different stories and uh let me go to the next slide I didn't memorize anything specific I'm going right off the top of my head because most of the stuff's been fighting me down for 46 years okay so October of 78 I was with a close friend and uh he we got off the school bus it was cold oh this

anyway so change okay so anyway October 78 my buddy and I got off school bus in war County High School I think we Juniors I don't know for sure but anyway he said hey Dave we're going surfing there's 12T waves out there I said listen we skateboard we don't surf and when we surf we surf three people below he goes yeah but they're putting together a surf team for the high school and we got to be on it so we got to practice so getting off the bus it sounded really great except when I got off the bus the cold wind hit me in the face and I realized sometime between there and the end

of the school day I had to baar on this guy cuz it was cold so by the time the end of the day happened we got back on the school bus I was the only one could drive I was 15 I was the only one to had my MERS permit and could drive during daylight hours so he needed my car to get his surf Bo to the beach and if he's going surfing I got to go surf him so he tells me my brother has a couple wet suits we'll go there we'll see what it's like and if not we won't do it while I get there it's beautiful it's a beautiful day but it's

freezing cold and we put these wet suits on they tended to be very very nice we got in the water when I stepped off the beach you know typically we walk in the beach we can walk up to KNE deep go a couple 50 60 yards in the water right I took one step off the beach and I went over my head holding my board the board went up in the air and I pulled myself back up and got back on the beach I like what the heck is going on well North Easter had come through and it literally created a sandbar that I couldn't see cuz it was covered with foam and so the

sandb bar was there it literally did a wash out from the beach line all the way out to The Sandbar then you could walk in 6 in of water for another 150 yard and then you were in 12ft waves so that's what my surfing day was like took us 45 minutes to get out to the through the 12ft waves when we got out we were so exhausted we said if someone goes to the point of no return where you can't get back out just everybody come in because it's too rough it's too much and so the first wave we both took off he didn't make it I made it and before I realized it I

was going 100 mph straight down in the face of a wave and being a skateboarder I knew I could stand up and hang on I didn't realize this surfing is supposed to turn yourself that way I went straight down and before I realized I was panicking because I thought I was going to face plant when I hit the SandBar imagine you're jetting on a wave it's taking you across the 150 yard uh Sandbar and you don't want to face plant yourself so I'm getting ready to rock and roll and but it never did and as soon as I got across the other side of the SandBar I just just I celebrated and I rolled off

my board and I landed in the water and it was crystal clear it was like a it was like a a fish tank it was that beautiful and when I looked down I saw some pipes what looked like pipes but they were big and thick and fat there was a whole bunch of them that were coming out of a sandbar so I pulled my surfboard back on my leash put it up there went down there swam down grabbed a hold of one they were thick I was like those can't be pipes and then I look at them they got knobs on the sides I didn't w I've never seen a Canon before you know so

I kind of I kind of said to myself this has to be a cannons these have to be cannons and I got up on the sandar and you should see me I look funny surb pressed into the sand my butt on The Sandbar legs hanging off face in the water looking down trying to count how many there are so I think I got to about 13 then I couldn't hold my breath any longer oh so that was my story then I I worried about it for about a week and never told my buddy who was with me I tried to tell him later on but I can't find him um but uh literally I you

know I I I had to figure out what I was what I was to do with this and so I called a guy in Jupiter by the name of Peter Leo and uh I called him and he basically said oh you don't know what you're getting yourself into he says I got enough cannons cause enough problems for me I ain't got no more time for any more cannons and he basically just let me let me go is this working so but anyway so that's the story of how it all started I basically kept it to myself after that until I retired from the Navy in 2003 and that's where we start off at so I

carried the knowledge until 2003 joined the Navy retired from the Navy started working for eye doctors in Wilmington North Carolina and that's where I initially got uh I met up with the right people to help me Sage wre now I'm not going to waste my time telling you every detail I'm going to kind of give you a reader condensed version because I got a lot of neat stuff to show you and uh but this is what cannons look like when they're encrusted when they have been exposed in the water okay the ones I saw were perfectly clean they were never exposed they're always under sand 99% of the time so and this is the company

I once I found a lawyer who was he was a lawyer that I fished with all probably for 10 years didn't realize he was a lawyer he was my doctor's brother and as soon as I told the doctor I was going to work for my story hey I'm going to claim the ship bre she goes you need tell Mike I said why Mike's fish not shipwreck he because he's a lawyer he's working on the hle right now I said oh my gosh it's like all the stars aligned he I called him up his well his sister called him he called me up and he got in touch with ailia research and recovery and the company

that I reached first actually we didn't we didn't get it off too well it seemed like they were trying to get my information and walk with it and that's one thing I realized that everybody wanted to know where this was was they the first company flew an archaeologist to my house in 12 hours so I figured found something cool and all I was trying to do is pull one can so I can put in my front yard from the need guy that was the whole idea my wife says find somebody four Pierce who for you that company flew an archaeologist he flew an archaeologist so but anyway so I they fly the archaeologist to me

that didn't work out then I met these guys and these guys were just so professional and they literally they work for B Fisher they work they work in the Jupiter Rec right now they work their own wreck up inia Island they're based out ofia Island and they work all the way down and around to the Keys now let me just T something the cool that I've always loved about this ship nobody likes treasure sellers well they do in books in movies but they don't like them in real life because they think that the boat is going to go in destroy the natural part of the of the land this boat is completely run hydraulically by

peanut oil so they have a a break a line break and it goes into the water and it's the only ship that's allowed legally to do hydraulic lifting in the keys because it's sanctuary and if it does break a line we still have to report it but they say typically when we report it they go so what it's peanut oil it's biodegradable so there's nothing to it but that's really we NE even the stanions on it the little white stanions that you see here those are tubes running the hydraulic fluid to the cranes and to the to the hydraulic blower and I'll you'll see up close pictures of that so so this is the first

Gathering so 2003 around September um we've been talking for about 6 months we've signed an agreement and everybody comes together with me can we turn lights down from just the front ones I want to be able to use this okay wrong side okay so so this guy right here has got his back to you very famous guy he he has worked the Titanic he has worked Mel Fisher R if you look at all the Mel Fisher books and they have all the guys in there he's usually the guys standing next to me um the thing that was kind of embarrassing with him he wears a gold coin around his NE that's more valuable than almost

any house I've owned and he he's an archaeologist that's what he lives for and it's a Byzantine coin and it's solid gold he found it in some ocean way over there by Rome and um the captain the the captain of the boat of this poel is Doug Pope and then there's Ed gabron he's passed but he's he was our historian and there's about six seven other guys around us that you don't see and then my lawyers taking the pictures Mike so next oh that's at the Howard Johnson's everybody knows where that's at right that used to be the hangout right yeah well it still was in 2003 and this is when we went from from

that restaurant to the tiger Shores beach and they're saying okay they point out to exactly where you saw I said well you see this water it's right there it's kind of hard it' been a long time you know it's been since 78 and that's 2003 and I've got to tell him where I saw this and so they decide that okay let's let's start hitting GPS's let's start making marks and can we go back one slide I want to show you something this is going to be important just hit back there you go you see that book right there that book's so important in this whole thing it's sitting right here in the back you can't

miss it's by Bernard Romans all treasure sers in especially the 1715 Fleet would give their right arm for that book well they would back then because no one had ever been able to find a copy of it there were only five known copies and the cheapest one was $50,000 I happened to being the novice that I am okay an archaeologist would say no you can't find that book being the novice that I am I get on the computer and I put up that name so many times the computer gets mad at me and throws me this book that a college graduate student had done their thesis on the book had collected three copies of it

and handtyped it and republished it and I got that book for $50 you see how I'm holding it tightly because Jim Sinclair is eyeballing that book because in that book it tells you exactly where the tiger Shores KK of the Lima KK of the Lima is sitting and it was exactly 300 300 feet from where I found my canas based on Bernard Romans and he's a English cartographer that wrote that book in 1760 I think he started 1760 to 1773 he published the book in the 1790s it took them long time to draw those pretty Maps they used to draw and you're going to see his map it's the only map he ever Drew and

his only job was to to make people want to go to Florida so they would start a business like Spain had going on over this side of the world collecting silver and gold and bringing it back Spain had no economy except silver and gold in this in these times I me if you can imagine that they they built nothing they made nothing the only thing they did was sailed and brought home treasure England everybody wanted to be like Spain back in those days okay so that's the first dive next and so this is Jim Sinclair they asked me Dave you gonna dive I said no I've been in there before I want to see you

guys when you come out so literally Jim Sinclair couple other divers there was probably total six divers went in and Jim Sinclair was in there about 12 minutes and he came running back out next and that's myself and the captain actually setting based on that book I found the coordinates to where Bernard Romans now you got to realize I found the Cannons I've set up a contract then I ran into this book and then I found the maps that wer supposed to be in this book didn't have Maps I had to find the maps and I found them and that's where it listed the bleach yard I'm going to explain to you what the bleach

yard is can everybody hear me okay no no I'm sorry just tell me speak up okay speak up speak up thank you I will now so but anyway so um Ed and Jim they're waiting for the other divers to come out when Jim Sinclair walked out to me and the captain Doug pooke he goes I don't know what's in there man but my detector would not stop going off it's big whatever's in there it's big and he said he he thought he had a problemis detector but he lift it out of the water and stopped he put it back down everywhere he scanned it was going off and what was crazy was it was pretty

rough that day it doesn't look rough but actually the the tide was just like ripping out so I was surprised he even got in next and that's Doug waiting for the other divers he's kind of a relaxed guy he used to fly helicopters in Vietnam so it took a lot to get him excited but Jim Jim Sinclair got him excited next okay so this is the original once I once I found that there was something there and I found a group that would help me set up the lease and do all the proper paperwork and everything word went out when we did all that stuff and so the state asked me to you know how

much space do you want to do on your lease I said well I want 3 miles by 6 miles starting at the inlet they said hey this is an exploration you know just give us a just give us a picture and then we'll work out what you'll explore and probably be where the Cannons are but we'll hold the rest for you so actually what I'm going to I'm going back to them this year prob a couple months and we're going to ask for a space hopefully longer than this I don't know if they're give it to me but you can always ask right and so um the Cannons and everything there's tiger Shores beach so

you can see that they gave me a half mile by half mile by half half mile to do an exploration lease and the exploration lease just the paperwork took me three years we didn't get to do our first drop until 2006 and no one from the state showed up we did it by ourselves and recorded everything that we found and you'll see what we found okay so next so that whole area is basically from the inlet all the way past Stewart Beach way on Beyond to Tiger Shores and so this is a closeup of it now I have it point the wrong way and I didn't flip this around because I wanted to show you

everybody familiar with Gilbert bar yeah okay Gilbert bar was named because that's where the pirate Gilbert I was holding but I had it somewhere but Gilbert would hide behind that and uh or have ships chase him he would use that bar to his advantage to block ships from Catching him because he knew where that bar was and that and basically if you look at the the the the depth of it a Spanish ship or a ship in those days needed at least 26 ft to cross it and if you didn't it knocked the rudder off of it and you could no longer steer it and you then became a wayward bathtub that's what they would

call next so this is what we did once we got our permit to do exploration then we did what we they call a a uh magnetometer survey and so we put the the toe fish the toe fish behind the ship behind the boat and you draw it through the water and as you tow it it it you know you set the width of it the depth of it we had to go pretty deep because the Cannons and everything were under a lot of sand so it throws out a magnetic field and anything that is iron will be picked up it doesn't pick up any gold it doesn't pick up any silver okay so most people

think when we're looking for a shipwreck next slide we're looking for this but in reality this is what we get if we're lucky and what they say is if there's cannons nine times out of 10 there's treasure well I found the Cannons now I got to get the the state to let me find the treasure so they got to convert me from an exploration lease to a salvage lease they've already told me they know I found it they know i' I've given them enough proof with maps books porcelain uh metal just tonight my brother-in-law gave me a stash of copper sething that he finds on tiger Shores all the time metal detec it's in the

box that's actually off the bottom of one of these boats when the worms would dig through the boat they would patch it with tar and stick the copper on there and try and help it make it home just pain so they could do a total repair so next so this guy the KN the first night that the day that you saw us at Howard Johnson's that night my lawyer myself Doug Pope Jim Sinclair all the top people in the in the group that we formed were driving to a restaurant and I don't think it was Howard Johnson but it could have been he was you know that's good thing anyway so this guy is known

for anybody know who he is okay the St manager of beach when he studied the ancient yeah and he the only man that could interpret old Spanish name say again lion lion I always called him Lions he never yelled at me he never corrected me but anyway Ernie calls me on the phone on the cell phone and he puts I put on speaker phone because I thought he wanted to speak to Doug Pope and he goes hey Mr Jordan I it looks like you found it we've been looking for this for 40 years and uh this is incredible he goes I knew it was down there I just could never prove it and there's been

other people that have found things there too which uh Mr Dell Bonds in the back back here he owned the lease to that back in the 70s right Mr bonds remember now this but I I have a copy of his lease E6 say again the lease name the lease number was E60 and that's early so mine mine is 152 I think but mine was the first lease in 30 years exploration that they'd ever done in 30 years and they made a big thing about that most of the Salvador couldn't believe that I got one I couldn't believe I got one it took me three years to get it but anyway Dr Lions basically said you

know he made me so proud because with his oh he's the same guy that told Mel Fisher hey you're looking in the wrong spot go down here you'll find it and he found it within months he found the atosha so when he says something you know it's probably pretty fru at the um National Library map room and I found them made copies of them pulled them out and how I found the bleach yard and that's something I want to talk to you guys about is they've been looking they heard about the bleach yard the treasure community did they thought it was hob Hill in uh John Dixon state park because when you think about it

it's a white Hill you can see it from us one they thought it was visible now back in the 1700s there were no uh Spanish trees along you know there was there's a lot of those Tall Pines that are on those are not native to here and that whole area was basically a sandbar it was created by shifting changes of the tide and it originally was a sandbar and they could see the white spots on the hill of the bleach yard they can also see a couple other key things that they talk about in that book um but the but actually this cartographer in 1757 whatever here get it he actually wrode in there in

a very small print bleach yard but he made it so small nobody could see it and of course 99% of us didn't know where the map was so when I found the map and I showed Jim Sinclair where the bleach yard was he basically announced that hey we found the bleach yard there's no doubt well since then I found six more maps with that on there so there's no doubt that it's it's the bleach bleach yard is in Jensen Beach okay and somehow Francis Lanford knew it because she bought it she bought and fit fit used to be on there too so but anyway so that book is the book that I that I found

for $50 now you can go online get it for about $30 there's a bunch of them so they they they've mass-produced them now everybody knows about this book especially in the Treasure community and so this guy Alan bollock in 2021 he took all the things that I mentioned that I learned from my own research the bleach yard uh the UR Dilma being in the wrong spot they have the Earthly dilemma up in four years jimon Clair and myself because of this book and the maps I found and the things that I found believe it's off of tiger Shores or somewhere in that vicinity um now meeting new friends in the church Community I've had some

discussions where now I'm starting to question whether that's true whether they really do have the yor dilemma here there were many other ships they didn't find and I think we have two other ships that are unnamed I really don't think think we have the UR of dma the main reason being is the or of dma came in intact it was the only ship that came in intact they totally took all the treasure off of it and then burn it to the water line so Pirates couldn't find it okay we found no burnt Timbers here there's tons of them up four Piers so but there's a story behind that I probably won't get into that because

it's kind of my own conjecture my own feelings so if you get a chance you want to learn about this gentleman here he took everything that I said and he turned it into proof by visiting Cuba because when the ship's wrecked they sent people by vote to Cuba to document what happened and send help so they went into the archives in Cuba with a professional archaeologist in Cuba and actually read all the documents and actually has them in that book that book can be bought right online it's $29 you can learn more about my boat than I do because I can't sit through the whole thing it's too much it puts me in overload it's

got a lot of good information but it's a lot did a great job okay next so then this is Jim Sinclair the guy that wears the golden coin that it costs more than my house he's always holding treasure that's the kind of guy you want around you all the time when you're looking for a shipwreck he's very good right now he's working the uh the the sand banks out of the Bahamas there's a Bahama Banks wreck that they've been working and there's like a multi- gazillionaire that's got an operation going on and he's literally working for them and of course when we start he'll come back over I'm sure show to me okay so now

we get to watch a movie if it works yep it's going to work you know Florida's history is steeped in mystery Legends and secrets one of the greatest events in world history happened on a July night 300 years ago we begin our journey into the past in 1715 at the time Spain relied heavily on the wealth and treasure it brought back from the new world known as the treasure Fleet from 1566 to 17 1990 Spanish gallions would cross the Atlantic twice a year these ships were filled with unimaginable riches to be presented to the king and queen the morning of July 24th all 11 ships were loaded ready for their journey to Spain they left

havan Cuba with the wind and Tide behind them but just 7 days into their Journey their worst fears would become reality what they didn't know was they were sailing directly into a massive hurricane this is 175 there's no GPS or weather reports the only way for a sailor to know there's a hurricane coming is after he's already in one the ships did everything they could to survive the storm but 100 mph winds and pounding rain kept pushing the ships toward the coast of Florida by Morning All Ships had crashed into the shallow reefs their holes breaking apart and spilling treasure into the Raging Waves you know the 1950s saw a boom in treasure hunting right

here in in Florida many shipwreck salvers found millions of dollars in gold and silver and became famous around the world it's these legendary men and women the reason we call this part of Florida the Treasure Coast one of these legendary salvers in 175 historian is John Brandon who was part of Mel Fisher Expedition that found the Atocha in the Florida Keys in the 1980s where an estimated 450 million in Spanish treasure was recovered hang on I want to show you something I got a silver bar from from the Spanish gallion of TOA what how about that oh my gosh how about that you're holding real treasure there that's something so what is this Mark right

here this Mark is the owner's mark this bar was being shipped back to him the circular stamp show that the king's 20% was taken out this is the asser's bite they took a chunk of metal they weighed it then they refined it to absolutely pure silver then they knew the purity of the silver this particular bar is about $99 .9% pure silver so is this a gold Beach I mean is there a lot of gold here this gold ring right here I found right there when I was 16 years old it was the first gold coin I ever found on the beach that first gold coin it hooked me I knew what I was going

to do the rest of my life here I got another little treat for you hold out your other hand here now what is this John now this is a gold bar from the 1715 Fleet okay now I'm ready to find my own piece of Spanish treasure Gary I'm here to find Spanish treasure I'm looking for low spots on the lower Beach okay next to the water you see how these Hills little Hills the yeah it kind of yeah the down y That's where you're going to find treasure there's so much gold and silver and precious jewels on these beaches but you have to wait for mother nature basically to unlock Dave Jones Locker and what

happens is two times a day with the ey tide water will come in and it will take sand off the beach revealing yeah you it puts you closer nice to the gold and the silver well and the great thing about finding gold and silver on the beach here is it's Finders Keepers oh yeah so Gary what's the greatest thing you've ever found out here uh the greatest thing I ever found is in my left pocket what is it just so happens it's been 10 years since this ring has seen the beach yep I brought my Spanish treasuring oh my goodness that's 22 and 1/2 karat Inca Gold with nine Flawless Colombian emeralds Inca Gold look

at the colors I mean that is now you know why we're here I can't keep away from this place Gary that must have been an amazing day I will never forget that day that was the day I found my find of a lifetime it's the best treasure ring that's ever been found off the 175 fleets you know when you walk on the beaches here in the Treasure Coast you are surrounded by history literally it can be buried in the sand Beneath Your Feet I encourage you to come out here and visit this part of Florida and learn more about this historic shipwreck and the role it play on Florida's history so this was a newspaper

uh clipping that I found online that was talking about the Shipwreck The Fleets that that and it came out if you look at it December 15th and that was considered fast okay I think this was Boston I'm not sure um I don't think England was concerned about it but you did get out information got out pretty quick because they invented Pirates to kind of help themselves to the treasure there's a lot of that that happened next okay so this is the routes that they took now they said two fleets went out each each year what they would do is there' be a terap forma Fleet and a plate fleets the plate Fleet would pick up

gold and silver that was being mined and manufactured by Incan Indians from Peru and and CIA and these countries along this Coast Area here but they also would have a terap Fara Fleet that would actually greet ships at the isus of Panama and pick up cenal um spices treasure and all sorts of things that they brought porcelain King say porcelain um a we found a piece of porcelain on our wreck and I'll show you a picture of that um I never got word back in the state but they liked it they kept it they never told me what we were going to do with it it's an exploration lease they own everything until we go

to a salvage lease so but I have pictures of it so if I ever see it again I can claim it I'm just joking anyway so but they would bring the king saite the kingside porcel and they put it in clay and hay and pack it in wooden boxes or chests and then store it so it make the trip back to Spain well they find pieces of it everywhere very few complete pieces have been found and if you find it there's probably only one thing more than I'd like more than a complete piece of porcelain and that would be an astrolab that was that thing that round thing that the guy was picking up in

the video off the bottom of the ocean they've only found three of those in their prices so that's the old instrument that they used to find location next so this breaks down what the inside of the ship looked like and all I'm concerned about is that you know where the treasure is so if you find your shipwreck you know where to look it'll save you a lot of time it's taken me 46 years so but the treasure is kept right in this area here and there's the steering I was talking to somebody earlier about how you steer these boats and how the hurricane got these ships is once you get got in below 26 ft

of water the bottom of that Keel would be or the bottom of the steering mechanism would be below the Keel and would catch the sand and rip right off of that boat and once you did that you were a floundering bath though you were at the whim and will and pleasure of the weather and so the top decks the top two decks number one weather deck and number two deck right here they didn't use any metal components to manufacture these ships SP well Spain didn't build their ships the French built their ships they had no they had no gross domestic product their gross domestic domestic product was silver and gold and beautiful EMS that was

their gross domestic everybody wanted that it was easier to do that than work for a Liv so but anyway so the king of Spain would have these ships these fleets of Ships coming back and when they leave Havana now why did usually two fleets two fleets of ships would not leave together but there was the Spanish English war that caused him to hold back and the senior Admiral was in the lead boat he died off Sebastian the second Admiral who had was in charge of the second Fleet now became in charge and boy was he happy because he didn't like the other guy and if you read that Alan blog's book you'll say that a

few times they wrote that different the counsil how they felt about each other and so literally he wanted to be rescued first so he told everybody that hey the urad Delma is a southernmost ship so that everybody make a beine to him because he was miserable and when you were on the beach back in those days they didn't have mosquito control you know you couldn't call them and say come to my house the mosquitoes are bad so they would literally bury themselves each to the neck and cover their heads with petto or when they could get to keep mosquitoes off them or they go lay in the water till a shark on because back then

there were no fishing office steuart and we're known for sharks and they didn't know us any better than bait you know you're going to hang out in the water at night first mistake right so anyway so that's what this the side of the ship I have another picture that actually points out where the treasures kept exactly but somewhere in this range sometimes the Captain's Quarters they put the there's a group of treasure called the Queen's Jewels it's not been proven um there's some people to say it's very immense it's a big doy for the new Queen but nobody's really found we found lists of stuff but we've never actually found any of the stuff that

was on the list and all the treasure that's been found no one's found that next and so here's the picture I threw it in there so see where it says silver is stored so right up here in the Cannons are right above it so that's why they say if you find the Cannons usually when it breaks apart the Cannons are going to fall out then the treasure is going to fall around hopefully if you're lucky or you might have to go a couple hundred feet away wherever anyway so that's the the cross section of this type of ship now that's called an AA now here's some of the methods some of the methods they use

to um to salvage parts of the Shipwreck and these these are not necessarily what they used out here but these are some of the methods that they used like tying boats together and sending divers down there's a diver with a animal intestine made as a snorkel see that and then you have Indians you know natives they would hire Natives and give them gifts and have them swim down because they were pretty good swimmers and sharks like them better I don't know they just didn't want to get in the water Spanish didn't and then they also would pull Nets but there's another thing they would do there's one more go ahead the next slide is another

method of how they would do it so there's the dive Bell that they would use somebody actually found one I saw one online didn't think it was necessary to show you guys but that's basically what they are they this here is just a native going down they're tying up cases of different stuff that was being shipped and attaching it to a gra to a line so they can pull it up on the ship next and so there's the polyl that's the first day we started polyl showed up not everybody excited me too next and so that's the first day and all the boats these are either friends or family there's uh Steve Gorman his boats

out there sure left okay Brer okay keep going and so this is oh hold on I think this picture was done by Steve's wife from the beach I don't know the first day I think she took this picture and I don't know how she got me all in that picture back then I was probably on 240 I was a big boor um but so what I wanted to show you here though is the this blower now this blower is kind of unique it runs off a peanut oil it's but also it is two thrust Motors off a cruise ship and it was the invention of the captain of this the captain the ship and so

literally they turned on for about 8 minutes full blast they could hook it on a crane and move it across it would blow a hole if the sand would allow it they blow it 30t deep 50 ft in a horseshoe and he could literally we turned 15 ft of water into 2 ft of water we Lally walked down the ladder and walked around the hole in 15 ft long so very efficient and the nice thing is it's not like the big mailboxes they put them over they're about 10 ft up and they got to try and shoot that jet down this they set it on the bottom raise up by the foot oh and the

crazy thing is the state will not let you run this unless you put a diver right on top of it so my brother wanted to ride it so we pulled it on full blast for him he said I'm not riding that ever again he said if I RI his mask off it was pretty rough but so literally you have to put a diver on the side they actually would stand here when it goes down to make sure if it's blowing anything they can communicate and tell us to stop so next so these coins and Rings here these were actually found on my site so we were there the ship showed up we went to dinner

that night the next day this guy calls and said hey look I found these coins near your rent and we resp wanted you know he brought them and so we took pictures we really didn't know what to think of we want to find our own and prove it but at least we documented that he have them you know and he's you know we don't believe everything we hear you know we like to see proof so there's other people I'm going to introduce you to here tonight that brought proof go ahead these are what they call Spanish hooks what they do is they tie a line to the to the Apex of it right here they

tie a line to that they run it to a major line and they'd have about six or seven of these coming off of that line and a rope booat would be anchored on Shore the roope booat would take it out over the wreck and those hooks would grab hold of Timbers and they bring the Rope back around and about 50 men would pull the Timbers to shore so anyway these Spanish hooks they would use those to pull um Timbers into the shoreline by hand they would be hook the ropes to a major rope they hook to the timers and pull the timers in and so what they would do is well what happened was a

a gentleman by name of Steve Gorman and I'm going have a Steve Gorman family stand up because they've been with me from the beginning Ashley Kayla like now like okay so 2003 2003 this guy this guy came up and he goes hey guys I know you're looking for Spanish stuff and I died this place all the time and I got these Hooks and we're like we've never seen these before well he took them to the Fisher or male fish Museum up in Sebastian he got approved that we went to Jim Sinclair the state of Tallahassee they all agreed that's what they were okay so first sign that we know for sure the Spanish were here

digging for something right oh that's the same guy right there see she CH he changed a little bit and there's this family and that's a recent picture I have pictures of them when they were younger it was really cool because I like to include everyone and especially if you're there to learn and to help and and that sort of thing I I welcome it when you see my boat pull up you walk out there and say hey can I come on board I'm most likely as long as you're not dressed like a pirate it probably would let you come up yeah you're not alow okay next and so here's the here's what we found okay

so this is what this is what told me and told the state that hey you've got a Spanish wre we got Spanish Pottery we've got a piece a chunk of the ship right here and I didn't line it all up because it would make the picture look kind of Funk but at least you can see it but if you look right here there's a square bolt with a square washer and we know that's part of the Spanish wreck jimon Clair took the pictures and AR basically archived it and that top all these came from my report that I have to give every year every time I find something I have to make a report and

then turn it in to the state the Bureau of historical research all right next so then they decided Ed there was a seventh wreck so there's seven known wrecks they try to name them they don't know quite what the names are but that's my wreck right there and guess what they named my wre close the unknown wck I gave him a name didn't work so this is the book where I found the maps and I found the information about my wreck the coordinates to my wreck and let me tell you Jim Sinclair stole that book for 6 months and I had to threaten his life as as bad as that was I had to I

said if you don't bring me my book back I'm going to fire you and he brought my book back so it worked I wouldn't fire him anyway but still it was that hard to find that book that book was really something okay next okay this is the actual Pages where it mentions it talks about as he went from uh Georgia North Carolina all the way down through and he actually talks about the Shipwreck and everything so and it's it uh he leaves Cape Canaveral and he comes down and he talks about all the different he he ends up at uh our River and a to whole mouth happened the Shipwreck of the Spanish Admiral who

northernmost wreck of 14 gallions now there they say 14 I hear 11 I hear 12 who knows you know what I mean because nobody can we're finding pieces of Rex we're not finding whole ships all we have is documents to say this many ships and here's their name we have actual I have actual um the list of the laden that's on the ship but I can't tell if what ship I have until I can prove either a bell or something that verifies exactly what ship you have so anyway so this is the pages where I showed Jim Sinclair and he almost passed out because goad next so this there's a couple letters that I have

as well that describe my wreck and one of them puts it at 2710 which is just south of the inlet and then one that puts it at 2715 so you have to kind of take in consideration who's saying it and what we like to look at is the Spanish records in Seville and the Spanish records in in uh Cuba in Havana okay so and you notice where I put the bleach yard ra and Z up where I put the bleach yard see how they spelt it there yeah obviously they do laundry so but I just call it ropa tenda but the bleacher double e CH is what the English cartographer called it Bernard Romans next

and so do I have the urma I'm not sure I mean all I can say is I've not found a burnt Timber I found Timbers but no burnt Timbers so I don't think I don't know there could be a number of wrecks down this way I just recently like the last week found putting this together found one of my maps I hadn't really looked at closely it usually would name a sh at the South End of the inlet and this one actually named it the Mars does anybody know what that means anybody in Spanish well anyway when when uh Eugene Lions told M Fisher go down here to the martyrs which was basically a sand

uh it was like a sandb the martyrs means the dead and so it it they just would list that anytime there was a major shipwreck so they actually list on the south end of the on that particular map that I have uh that they named it the martys there's three places I found it where the atosha and the margarit and that Fleet went down in 1622 uh at the North End of the keys where U mfish was looking at first I found a map that listed the martyrs there because there was a wreck somewhere late in the 1600s there and then I found it off of Martin County's uh Inlet so next this is the

map so imagine when my my lawyer talking to me and saying Dave where exactly is your wreck I said off Stewart like he knew where that was he he was from DC he didn't have a clue so I had to keep magnifying and magnifying and magnifying this up and as I was doing this I was trying to pinpoint exactly but I wasn't capable I wasn't smart enough to learn how to put an x on the map I was just then learning this is back in 2003 I I wasn't very fluid with the computer back in those days so go to the next slide so then I blew it up and guess what I saw lege

lead yard and you see that you see what that little Mark right there that whole thing looks like a coffee stain when you look at the map for real I mean when you look at a copy of it it that's why nobody ever saw it and they thought uh you ever anybody heard of uh grer Hill well Jupiter Inlet Jupiter Inlet was called groper Inlet and groper Hill was the hill that they put the nice tall tower on in Jonathan Dixon State Park and that's listed on these old Spanish Maps Grover Hill so and it's not on this one but it's on one of the other maps that was probably within five years of this

one go ahead so this is the second story okay actually this is the third Story the third story is you all have to realize that the whole Coast the whole east coast of this state from Canaveral South claims shipwrecks they claim to be the treasure the Treasure Coast but in reality you guys are more than that because what people don't realize is every time let me ask you something every time you take a long trip in your car do you pack a little cooler of food and drinks or something to take with you or find a place to eat along the way don't you do that if you take kind of a little bit of

a road trip or something like that well the reason why I'm saying that figure out you know these are Spanish people on a ship that's miserable for one thing water doesn't does hold up well it spoils quickly you guys probably didn't realize water spoils so but there is a good point to that because he can make Grog which is like a form of beer and it ferments and it doesn't spoil and also you get a little buzz from it I guess that was you know they were they were they drank Grog like we drink water because that was their water if you all not can we go back one slide because I forgot to point

out one other thing so we we pointed out where the bleach yard was right here correct so when I blew it up and I said to my lawyer hey here's where my shipwreck is I noticed this little jumble of stuff right here you see it it's like right on the island and you know what that says Wells what do you need if you're Spanish you need water and you need food so the bleach yard was where they would pull in now they it was too shallow for them to come in with their big boats so they would pull up to about uh 40t of water behind the bar drop their anchors pull out the long

send the cruise out somebody be responsible for getting water somebody else be responsible for getting manatees another person be responsible for sticking fish another person go after deer and bear and anything else you could find turkeys this was their 7-Eleven Jensen Beach was their 7-Eleven su's point was their 7-Eleven and you guys have to realize that the whole treasure Community I've told them it's here and they are excited that it's here and if you know if you're part of the historical group here the museum raise your hands for me okay it's your responsibility to help everybody understand what they don't understand how important it is I've Got Friends that live on it that live on

the bleach yard they have a house on the bleach yard you have to understand that that whole area you can't put an X in one spot it's basically they would grow they would Camp there for a week because it's a month or two to get back home so they got to they've got to pull together enough water enough food to get back there now every year the treasure sellers we have a picnic and they have it in a little town called laasa they should have it here at The Bleach yard all the treasure Hunters all the treasure people that are involved are excited that the bleach yarts here they don't know that we like them

they don't know that if we even like them because we're treasure Hunters you know we get a lot of flack so what I'm trying to talk to Gary about is putting together a group of people that will help set up an annual barbecue here celebrating the crash of a thousand lives that died out here on the beach thousands of people died out there nobody does anything for them except one guy Tom Gus you guys met him like in October he goes out and puts one rose out and says a prayer for a thousand people that died on our beach and it's an important part of history that we need to bring back and share with

all the other people of our community and the state it'll bring in tourism but it also will make you as important as you are because of what's here okay very important go ahead to the next slide is that too deep I'm sorry I got I really weren't there it's 46 years pen off guys okay so next we looked at this this is another map that says bleach yard a High full a high hill full of white spots remarkable Landmark now that's the English saying this they didn't use it as a bleach yard why did they use it as a bleach yard Leach yard they would put their sails out let the muslin heat up and

it would bind the fibers so it could withstand storms and stuff to go back to Spain so it's like getting your car ready to take that long trip and of course they would hunt fish and get their water from the wells you know I called the I'm not saying anything negative but I called the director of The Island the park that's the South End to tell him I found on a map where the Spanish Wells are he goes I don't care I don't like treasure Hunters I don't want to hear from you again okay have a good day that's the kind of response I've been getting and I I'm so blessed that I'm able to

talk to you now because it's it's you got you got it you're like this close you know next so what is there now we know what we know what the bleach yard is but what one thing I've noticed is it always has that little hump there right where the bleach yard is I don't know if I can holding that that still I'm getting younger and as I do my hands shake a little bit more but the bleach yard is this area right here and my wreck is right there and and that book says that is where the wreck is so that's you know even more proof to the state okay next picture okay so now

Children's Museum is out there it's a big Park so my my point tonight is use your mic oh I'm sorry I'm not used to that so but um my point tonight is to make sure everyone that's in this room knows and tells other people how important this Stewart Martin County Jensen Beach Rio all this whole area was hunted and fished for the Spanish Fleet that ran from the 1630s 1650s to 1770 this was their grocery store and they wouldn't have to buy it at Havana they'd come a week up the up the side of Florida and Po in take a vacation do some hunting get some water make the trip home next so this something

I want to show you Indian River nothing bad against them I'm giving them props they take all of your thunder they have more treasure books online they celebrated the 300th anniversary of the of the ships wrecking on the coast they have I mean every time I turn around they're having a celebration and they have nothing celebrate except people crashed into their Beach we got the bleach yard does that make sense is that is okay because I really you have to understand how important it is to treasure salvers treasure people that are interested in Spanish history archaeologists no one knew where the bleach yard was until 2003 it's a big deal next okay so here's another

map and I going to show you how important you were this was a real old Spanish map from about the 1580s and look what the only Mark that's on it guess where that's at Martin County right here it's Martin County and some you know uh an English guy would look that and go why' they put that there you know but to a Spanish captain that meant I'm going to make the trip home I'm going to be I'm going to be alive when I get home you know next and that's the Indian River magazine that capitalized on it you see you see how Indian Rivers just killing us they they got so much props on on

telling everybody how treasure you know treasure is one thing but we have the Spanish history here we have the Spanish Fleet they had you know what they had one day of ships at their Beach we've had them for a hundred years but they're getting all the credit that magazine isn't for Indian River but that's the name it's the whole it's us I I know but I'm just saying I love it I but I'm you're missing my point and you're an author right well I just listen I'm not I'm not an author I'm a guy who's trying to get you and everyone in this room the benefit you deserve because of the bleach shard in your

backyard I don't know I don't know about this magazine I just ran across it looking to see who's celebrating it and it wasn't from Martin County that's my point waren county has been ignored the whole time yeah and they they have been but I can bring I can bring important people here I can bring important people find that treasure and we really get it a lot you know what you don't understand the fight that that you know what may not in my lifetime but I guarantee you my son will find it okay cuz we're already lining that up I'm probably in my lifetime I'm 62 I'm not going to probably find it isn't that terribly

expensive to hire that ship yes well now you're starting to get it okay I guess I guess that's the ship I mean we go to Publix on the island and I think I saw that ship you do you do oh and let me tell you what they said if we could get the bar if we could get the barbecue here he said he pull that ship right into that bleach yard so everybody could come on it and check it out anytime I want him he said I'll be here he's working the Jupiter wreck right now and I'm probably going to Captain at some point I'm I'm getting my captain's license here the next several months

and I'll probably be hopping on it from time to time moving it around especially when it's coming here I drove it one time it thing's a blast it's like a big barge but it floats it's nice next okay so this is the article written by Rick crer we had to find this guy cuz this guy knows how to write an article 300 year anniversary you know that guy well he's he writes for her Indian River magazine and he did and he did a beautiful job for them and here there's a bridge named after his grandpa yeah we need to talk to that guy CU he messed up he should have done that for us that's

what I'm saying I love that article that's a beautiful article it's online you can look it up I'm giving him props I'm not beating them up go ahead next and so that's the part that I got some great ideas that's the bleach yard there's an old folks home I want to kick all those folks out no I don't my mom's going to one of those so I gotta be nice I'm joking I'm joking I'm old okay next and so that's my goal one of the things I'll tell you that my plan is I want to start a historical um floating historical tour and that dock looks exciting to me I'd like to put a 40

passenger pontoon boat there someday I got a little you know nothing I like really comes to fruition but I Can Dream right here's a TI taxi there's a l there's a water taxi yeah but he doesn't know what I know about the Spanish oh but we could it out yeah you guys when you want to hear me you be come on now we drinking oh I know okay so you'll hear me next okay so this is my future goals and plans develop new relationships to promote Martin County in the bleach yard along with my Salvage operation uh get the Bureau of historical research involved and have the state add markers it's important they should know

we should have people that know where the wells are and put a marker there because that's a that's a park that's a it's not a national park it's a state park the bleach yard everybody knows the state knows it's the bleach yard I told them they don't care they don't care unless you force them to put a marker there they got markers everywhere around the state but not one of the most if it wasn't for the bleach yard we would never be developed you know that we'd never be a nation and actually the money that was used back in those days in St Augustine by the Spanish developed our money you know your quarter that

has The Ridges around it the reason why it has The Ridges is because Pirates used to clip um Spanish treasure and they would clip enough off after about a month they'd have a whole another treasure and then of course Pirates would steal a s stamps and stamp their own so now if you got a a quarter that has you know 60 for before is 90 90% silver right if you had The Ridges around it you could see if somebody clipped it it's not worth a quarter at that point so and so the other thing is I want to bring the treasure Community back to our town where it belongs the treasure Community spends all its

time in Sebastian only because that's the end of the Rex we're the beginning of the Rex we're the beginning what you hear me we're the beginning it would have never happened if they hadn't had to come this way to stop at the store right and then um I have people that want to come to for book signings meet and greets uh the guy Brandon pulled the big silver bar out of the he comes to every barbecue he's he's he's just a normal guy if you met him you'd never know I sat next to him the last barbecue I don't think we said one word to each other I just sat there went but he's just

a nice guy they're just great people and uh they're just like you and I matter of fact I'm going to meet with one of them tomorrow to let them know how well you ex have well you received my information because he's the one that does the barbecue and getting older and he's afraid it's going to drop off and go away it would be a cool thing to bring to Martin County and make it a festival maybe do a Christian Christian ceremony Spanish Christian Spirit ceremony every every you know like a weekend close to that day that it happened to celebrate the lives of the people that lost their lives along our beach you know we

don't really think about it but thousands died out here thousands of people died and then um of course I want to make t-shirts and hats cuz I like those and then um I would like to do a commercial pontoon boat tour I'm looking at maybe the end of this year if I can find a location that will allow me to come in and do that I'm thinking about doing that and uh that way I can show you from the boat from the boat what the Spanish saw when they looked at The Bleach yard and when they looked at him you know I'm going to do a going do a video eventually might have a job

for this guy you know so where we can do a video and show it on the boat if I'm not available so I'll have something there um try and get the barbecue here if I can it's just one man's dream but I know they would love to come to the bleach yard they would okay and then involve the historical society and the museums make sure everybody you know it's our job to get everybody involved and let everybody know what they're not paying attention to when I look at all the you know I have a lot of history from Martin County I have a lot of it and I probably have some of your books I

probably do and I'm telling you that I've noticed that we look at from like 18 30 1860 and on but there's nothing before that unless you go to Jun Sinclair's house and he's got all that stuff 10,000 years back and so I have access to all that stuff and it's so interesting to me that we don't know that and I grew up here and I didn't know that till I left you know next so that's one of those boats I'm looking at down the road probably this one because it's got the full cover in case it rains or something like that I'm G to have I I want to make it nice I make it

fun I want to make families enjoy coming here to just like when you go to johnan Dixon you jump on the tour boat takes you down to Trapper Nelson's house you could have that right here in Jensen Beach people would come in flops to come see your town you know you could put gates at both ends but it won't work we'll still do in okay next so that's kind of the end now I'm just going to show you cool pictures I know I went over about 10 minutes I was trying to keep it to an hour um there's our our hero Steve Gorman but he's actually helping my crew in Sebastian they invited him to

come up and help retrieve a cannon which is right there and look who he got to work with I am so jealous okay that's Dr Lions again and he's passed but he he's smartest man I know when it comes to Spanish history and the smartest man I know shared his knowledge he didn't keep it to himself he told all of us next so this is the Canon Steve's one of these guys Steve which one are you on left this guy with your back turned in the middle oh in the middle okay you're showing us okay anyway that's a big cannon I saw his Cannon after I didn't know they did this I was in the

Navy but I took a weekend with my family I went down to Mia Island where they had a my group had a museum there and they let me hold bar of silver and P coins and you know get me all excited and but that Cannon was actually sitting for over two years so that the incrustation would fall off and they thought it might be filled with with treasure I just found out two days ago it was not filled with anything sorry about that Steve but I didn't know find out where it's at and you were asking me where it was at it's at Mel fish's Museum it was given to Taffy Fisher so Sebastian so

you might want to go up there and see if you can yeah see if you can find it now this split flp uh pistol here is kind of interesting because I'm 2007 2008 no it was down in 2004 so it was 2004 I was invited to go meet a treasure hunter who wanted to meet me because I was the newest lease nobody thought they could ever get so he wanted to have lunch with me and Doug took me up to Vero Beach and I sat down with um Rex stalker and Rex stalker worked with a guy his name was Zack REI and very young kid I think I got his picture in here I'm not

sure but Zach REI found this pistol wrapped in in clay and hay remember I told you they would pack porcelain and hay and Clay this was in the ground they were getting a mark they dug down they blew down and found a chunk of clay when they peeled it away it was a mint condition pistol mint 1709 even had the maker marks and name on the pistol yeah very interesting where did they find it they found it off Bureau off of buau they sent it to the state and they said the state destroyed it I don't know what happened yeah they they usually you put it through a process where they desonate it I don't

I don't know why he said that but that was the last statement I saw before I came today was they said he was talking to somebody else and he goes yeah they sent to the state and we never got it back and was destroyed because they tried to whatever process they used to try and save it it didn't it just fell apart but it was I mean saw a picture of it it was so beautiful I couldn't believe I mean I thought you could fire it that doesn't give it justice I think they cleaned it up a little bit more than that when they took the picture because it looked like a perfect 1715 flp

Rock to me next next slide that's it the end thank you all very much hope I didn't bore you there you go yeah question two questions how many cannons did you chall did you recover they won't let me touch them they would not let me in close enough they know where they're at we have a magnetom survey um I have my surveys and my contracts here and on the survey we showed them right where the where the Cannons were you turn the lights on yep and um and they still there oh yeah they're still there they won't let you pull them up they won't even let me get over top of them because they know

I'll blow them open and we'll see them the Spanish Wells they won't let me over there if I go over there they will take every let me say this in 2009 I got a phone call I was in my I was in my exporation lease and they said cease and assist I said what did I do they said nothing just cease and assist we're talking to the National marine fisheries I said about what they said well you're on a reef I was like not a reef The Reef is under 15t of sand yeah but the national marine fisheries is concerned so then they kicked my boat off and I have not been able to do

anything since but I'm getting ready to go back there this summer and we're going to have a discussion and and we're going to figure out where we fall because I spent a lot of money for 9 years or six years and never and they even told me at the last meeting I had with them in Pont ver Florida that I found the wreck and the last thing they said to me was hey you found the wreck why don't you just give it to us I was like no it belongs to us I don't want to get wealthy I'll probably never see that you know I hope I do but I doubt I'll ever see anything

from it you know you know if you were able to get out there in 2019 when I was diving 20 ft of sand was gone from those whole areas you would have saw them yeah sitting on the bottom without any digging any day I take the Poo out there I can blow any hole and see anything I want it's unbelievable what that boat does and within a day the sand will be right back so it's not like it disturbs what I want to do is bring the boat right up to the Shoreline and blow a hole in the water right at the shoreline because we have a beach everybody know what a hard pan is

okay when you throw let's say you lose your ring at the beach and it's in the sand and you know all the people here that treasure Salvage know this the water creates a density that allows the ring to sit over time sip down to that hard Barren coina rock hard pan well why you don't find people finding a lot of treasure on our beach is because our beach hard pan is like this it's covered with sand it comes to the water line and then it drops off like this about six feet down that's when I remember I told you I stepped off the beach and I went over my head if the hard pan was

a couple feet under i' would have maybe gone down to my waist I was over my head and what Jimson clar and them told me was it's very rare but in our area in Florida from like uh and I think it's I don't think it includes Jupiter Island but it's from the Inlet North to about just south of the power plant we have a a hard pan that just drops off because of getting beat up by hurricanes you you know so it's really strange that you know if I could get up close enough and just blow a 20ft line and look I bet you we'd find a lot of stuff a lot of good stuff

that would guarantee us that we know what's there and then we could you know move from an expiration to a salvage but uh they won't let me get that close they told me stay 500t from the closest building which is The Islander 12 which they know puts me about 50 feet from the canons so everything's predisposed no other group has to go through this they told me I couldn't use a 6in dredge 6-in dredge is standard in our industry so like when you blow a hole you go back down to this residual St sand and you take a 6in dredge the diver runs that and picks up excess sand or overburden and moves it out

of the way well they threw the book at me when I asked to use it the last time and they said if you ask again we're going to take your permit from you and they threw the rule book at me well that was a mistake because I'm a Navy Chief retired and one thing I go by is the rule book and so I read the rule book and it said if we give you as a state if we give you an exploration part uh contract or a salvage contract you're allowed to use up to a 6in stretch so first thing I did was I called my lawyer I said look at page it's only three

pages I didn't be a genius to read it but I it took me a year to read it and I read it and I saw it plain as D I'm allowed to use it well then I called my they always assign a junior archaeologist to my site he got on the phone he goes hey Mr Jordan how you doing I said not well let me speak to your boss well he's busy right now I said that bitch he's not too busy for me oh yeah he is he's pretty busy I said okay well then I'll just have him talk to my lawyer when he drops the law suit because we're getting ready to go to

court he goes what are you talking about I said well give me a definition of what overburden is he goes That's like sand just regular sand he goes yeah I said well that is what it says in the contract that I'm allowed to move overburden with a 6inch dredge and you guys just outlawed me from doing that and that's illegal sh and they suck sand and blow it all over the beach but that's okay yeah well but listen I'm not I'm not here to beat up any this was years ago okay it's a new it's a new group I'm going to go there with a clean heart and not with a bad attitude I got

to go there with a clean heart and plead my case and see where I'm at and either way I'm going to I'm going to move forward so with or without them if I have to go to law I'll go to law I don't want to do that but I will but I need support I need support you ever talk to our Congress person right next door listen I've talked to listen I went to the oig the oig I told them that they broke the law and did this to me they gave me a report two days later said I didn't have any any leg to stand on the only way you can go is go

to court if they won't listen that's it anyway thank you guys very goe
